Start your Southern Italian vacation by first spending three days in the eternal city, Rome. Then travel to the ancient city of Naples for a night before heading further south through the Italian countryside all the way down to Sicily. A highlight of the journey is the train rolling onto a ferry to take you across the straits of Messina to Sicily. The train then continues along the beautiful coastline to the famous resort town of Taormina.
